Hi everyone, my name is Paras Rana. I’m currently in my third year at UVic, working toward a combined major in Computer Science and Health Information Science. I’ve always been interested in how technology can support healthcare and education, so this program feels like a good way to bring those worlds together.
This fall, I’m taking EDCI 338: Social Media and Personalized Learning, and I’m really looking forward to exploring how digital platforms can make education more engaging, interactive, and tailored to different learners. I think it will be interesting to see how concepts from this course connect with both my computer science background and the health information side of my degree.
Outside of school, I enjoy staying connected with friends and family through social media, and I’m curious about how these same platforms can be used for meaningful learning. I’m also interested in data analysis, problem-solving, and looking for creative ways to use technology to improve people’s everyday experiences.
